The weight of a martial lineage
is not measured in techniques,
but in how many generations
have carried it in their bodies.
Zhang Junfeng. Tianjin native. Studied Baguazhang under Gao Yisheng, Xingyiquan through the Li Cunyi lineage.
Arrived in Taiwan in 1948. Taught near Yuanshan, Taipei. A merchant by trade, he explained martial theory through geometry — never through mysticism.
Hong Yixiang. Student of Zhang Junfeng. Founded Tang Shou Dao in 1966, seeking to systematize traditional martial arts.
He built a path from external Shaolin methods to the internal arts — Xingyi, Bagua, Taiji — insisting on integration and combat verification.
Luo Dexiu. Born 1956, Taipei. Entered Tang Shou Dao in 1968. From external boxing to full-contact Sanshou, then into the heart of Baguazhang.
He holds nothing back — but he holds the standard. For him, teaching is not commerce. It is obligation.
